We have reduced our Carbon Footprint by more than 99%

We have reduced our carbon footprint by more than 99%!!

Yes, it's probably not accurate because it would take me too long to measure it accurately but read on to fine out why I think my statement is reasonable.

Today, Bunker Mentality operates an ‘on demand single piece’ production process.

The idea is quite simple, only products ordered by the customer get made.

The order goes directly to the factory and they print, cut, sew and pack the garment before sending it to the customer.

It’s that simple.

No waste.

No over production.

No gigantic carbon footprint.

No adding to landfill of unsold garments.

Previously…

Order bulk production.

Order bulk packaging.

Fill a huge metal container which a diesel truck takes to docks to load it onto a ship bound for the UK.

6 weeks later, another diesel truck brings it to Bunker HQ warehouse where we break the packaging down and store.

Warehouse needs heat and light so more energy.

We send our 3 salesmen to tour the country to sell to stores all using diesel for cars.

Customers orders are packed in more packaging and another diesel truck takes the garments to their store.

So this is around 150 stores which all have to use heat and lighting to operate.

If we sell to a large multi store retailer all this happens times 10 or 20 times

More shops requiring heat and light.

Some time later….a golfer comes in to one of the shops and buys a polo shirt.

Result!

All of this is a gigantic carbon footprint which is almost unquantifiable.

I think my 99% reduction may be no where near accurate … however,

Today a customer picks a polo shirt from our website and the factory make and deliver to their home.

I don’t think I’m exaggerating with 99%...do you?
