Getting in some golf!
I’m making progress on my goal to play more regular golf this year, I’ve managed three rounds in the last month!
As I’m not yet a member at a club in Sydney, I’ve been able to get out and play a few different courses.
First up was a great costal course called St Michaels, the course plays around the cliffs and has amazing views out to sea. This round was in a society a mate plays in and although it rained for a lot of the day, I managed a 78 and more importantly kept dry in my bunker waterproofs.
Second up was a Greg Norman designed course about an hour west of Sydney called Stonecutters Ridge. It’s a long course with lots of bunkers but the ball was running a mile so scoring not too difficult (77 for me). I’m told the NSW Open is held there at the end of the year.
My most recent round was another society day and this time 1.5 hours south of Sydney at a town/course called Wollongong. Very much a links style course and with winds up to 30km/hour it was pretty challenging but again I scored in the seventies (78) and also won the day.
Been pleased to have some consistency in the scoring but more so to have made it out three times! My Dad is over from England in a couple of weeks and hopefully we’ll fit in a couple more games. I got him a Bunker shirt so that we can hopefully both ‘wear it well’ out on course.
