Justin Thomas' tattoos explained

Justin Thomas now has a tattoo of his late grandfather on the inside of his right upper arm. Shortly before Paul Thomas, also a professional like his dad Mike, died in February the 2017 PGA champion rang his grandmother to ask for her husband’s signature.

"I said, `This is weird, but can you have grandpa sign something?'" Thomas said. "His signature is very Arnold Palmer like, and I always remembered that. I asked her to send me a picture of it. She said, `Should I even bother asking?' I told her no."

When he had it done he sent a picture of the finished product.

"He called me and said he would be charging me residuals every time he saw it on TV.”

Thomas’ original tattoo is another family tribute – this one has three vertical lines just below his elbow that represent his father, mother and himself, with a horizontal line above the middle one to form a ’T’ for Thomas.

Other pros to have had tattoos of some description are Seve, Rickie Fowler, Danny Willett and Thomas Bjorn who famously has the Ryder Cup and scoreline imprinted on his backside!
