Get Back To Golf Tour

Alan Tait has been a great friend of Bunker Mentality for a while now. His current projects include working for GolPhin to encourage juniors to take up to great game of golf which is having continued success.

However, during the past few months of lockdown, Alan has managed to develop a great golfing concept, very aptly named the Get Back To Golf Tour. Held across various courses up in sunny Scotland, the idea is get people back out on the course, while giving golfers of all abilities the chance to play competitive golf for some great prizes.

The concept itself is fairly simple - the 'host course' is open for competitors for a 10 day window. They can play at any point during that period, and their score is recorded and submitted. When the competition closes after those 10 days, the lowest amateur and professional is declared the winner. What makes it even better - the entry fee (which covers your green fee) is fantastically cheap, so you can play some absolutely fantastic courses for a steal!

“What a great success this inaugural event has been," said Tait, one of the most enthusiastic figures in the Scottish game. "I said before if I got 40 or 50 playing then it would be worth doing."

"To get a total field of 93 with a lovely mix of top amateurs, professionals, women, seniors and teenagers is absolutely brilliant. The feedback from the competitors has been fantastic, they have all really enjoyed being out there playing with their friends on a top-quality golf course and, importantly, with a scorecard in their hands again."

"Just about everyone of them has text or emailed to thank me and for giving them the opportunity to play, in what has been a hugely frustrating year. They didn’t have to do that, but it’s very appreciated all the same."

"I’m just delighted to help and do my wee bit for our golfers in Scotland. Crail has been an amazing venue and the general manager, David Roy, and his team were amazing. I can’t than them enough."
