Tiger Woods to open new (putting) course

Tiger Woods, fresh from his relative heroics at Augusta, has announced that he will be opening two 18-hole putting courses in Florida.

Each course is built using synthetic turf, with undulations, bunkers, fairways and rough. The 15-time major champion will open the courses next week (April 28) and the two courses have been designed to suit a player's particular ability. There is the more challenging Tiger Red Course with strong contouring and trickier hole locations. More gentle is the Tiger Black Course which will appeal to families and people just getting going or new to the game.

To round off the family experience there is also an outdoor dining area and a playground and, for the adults, there is a rooftop bar. This is part of a venture by PopStroke Entertainment Group, which is co-owned by Tiger Woods’ TGR Ventures, and PopStroke also has a customised mobile app that lets players order drinks and food to be delivered to them, display their scores digitally and earn loyalty rewards.

“We are excited to introduce PopStroke to the Sarasota community as we continue our expansion. PopStroke is about bringing friends and families together to create lasting memories around the game of golf. We have created two 18-hole putting courses that can be enjoyed by all, regardless of age or skill level. We look forward to welcoming a new generation of players to our unique putting experiences at PopStroke Sarasota,” explained Woods.

Other course designs on his CV include par-3 projects at Pebble Beach, Diamante and Mexico as well as the 18-hole Payne's Valley in Missouri's Ozark Mountains.
