New Season 2016 – Unapologetically Bold

The new golf season is around the corner and that means a new Bunker Mentality Collection. This season we are being as ‘unapologetically bold’ as we ever have been. We believe golf is a special game, one that should be played in some style. Bunker style is defined by the use of dynamic colour, graphic energy and attention to detail with an irreverent sense of humour. We take the great game of golf seriously, but ourselves less so. Drawing influence from popular culture and fashion, we confidently push the envelope without compromising golf etiquette for a player with an individual personality and lifestyle. For Spring 16, we have lots of styles to grab your attention with new sports stripes, golfadelic patterns and a couple of quite unique shirts inspired British popular culture.

Two very exciting new pieces which we believe, yet again, shows our leadership of golf fashion are the Paisley Pattern and the Vertical Stripe . These two styles are quite different, the first being a Paisley Pattern made famous by the town of Paisley in Scotland. The pattern was made famous in the 60’s and the 80’s as part of British Mod youth culture, which gave us the idea of introducing it to the great game of golf as a perfect pattern for Modern British Golf.

The second style also has strong links back to Mod culture with its vertical stripes on the front of the garment. Mod culture was a super-cool British sub-culture, characterized by smooth, sophisticated looks and styles in its menswear. Polo shirts were a big part of this, with small neat collars and various patterns including the vertical stripe. This shirt has a slimmer silhouette and smaller collar to bring this classic look right up to date to fit with our Modern British Golf. These are two very different technical shirts compared to anything that currently is on the fairways and again, they show that we are focused on leading golf fashion in terms of style. These garments are part of the Bunker Cmax Technical Range and emphasise our belief in design. When all brands are using more or less the same fabric with similar properties, design become the key differentiator and ours is ‘unapologetically bold’.
