Club Championship at Hazlemere Golf Club

Over the weekend it was Club Championships at Hazlemere Golf Club and I really enjoyed taking part again this year.

There is a lot of hard work that goes on behind the scenes for this event and I hope all of the staff and volunteers at the club understand how much members like myself appreciate the hard work they put in.

Hazlemere Golf Club is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of the Chiltern Hills of South Buckinghamshire, close to Beaconsfield and High Wycombe.  The club is just under a mile and a half from my home however the distance is not the only reason why I play my golf at this club.

In addition to the main monthly competitions the club run a number of fun competitions throughout the year and there are also plenty of social events such as Quiz nights and themed 9 and dine events on a Friday evening.  The Golf Skills Academy run by Gavin Cousins the Head Pro can help golfers of any ability whether you are new to the game or an experienced player wanting to fine tune your game.  The members are friendly and it is not surprising that the club have a reputation for being ‘the friendly club’.  No matter your age or ability there is something for you at Hazlemere Golf Club so if you are local and looking for a new course or interested in taking up golf then take a look at the website to find out more Hazlemere Golf Club Website

I spent a lot of time at the golf club this weekend as not only did I play golf on Saturday and Sunday I watched the England football game at the club.  After having a few beers on Saturday night I was not shocked to play worse on Sunday but overall I  was pleased with my golf.  On Saturday I was 1 under my handicap but Sunday I was 5 over my handicap.  I guess you could say that a hangover costs me 6 shots ;O)
