A Good Friday – Hot & Cold
It was a cold, miserable wet day as we visited Alyth which is in the vale of Strathmore today.
It is a little off the main golfing tracks in Scotland, but, well worth the deviation away from more well known courses. A James Braid designed course and this one in rural Perthshire which in 2014 celebrated its 120 birthday is beautifully presented with great views of the surrounding hills.
It is a good test of the golfers skills and it is suitable for players of all standards.
The only way to brighten up a day like today was by adorning hot pink gofella’s, C-Max blue and Tri colour ball jacket.
“wow, you’re bright” is how the pro greeted me There were some hushed conversations in the car park between the elderly statesmen playing in their Friday morning sweep.
Golf is about fun, the Bunkered Menatality brand is about fun. Maybe little old Alyth wasn’t ready for hot pink on a dull day, but, standing out between the grey, navy, black and dark green is no bad thing, in my humble opinion.
It was a day to wear it well and play well. Game Golf accompanied me today and I will be writing a post about that this week.
